To create a job, open the Job Creation interface by clicking Click to Create a Job.
This will open the creation interface and show the five tabbed pages used :
The Input Media page lets us select the input sequence (or folder containing the sequence) to process. Select the folder icon to open a file browser.
When processing an image sequence the selected frame in the browser will be the first processed frame.
Multiple Input Sequences
If you process a folder containing multiple video sequences you must use export output variables to ensure the output is exported to different file names and/or folders. See the Output Naming page.
A note is a processing preset that is applied to the selected input video sequence and rendered. The Note page displays a list of available notes we can apply.
The notes list is created from notes found inside the configured notesDir.
You can create a preset note using the Loki application.
The Project page lets you configure the rendered output :
- Format (resolution, aspect ratio etc.)
- Frame rate
- Framing (scale, filtering)
- Colour channels and bit depth
Setting the format as Custom lets you manually set the width and height to the desired values.
The Scene Detect page lets you configure a scene detection step which will analyse the input sequence and locate scene (shot) boundaries. Select Scene Detect when processing edited material (i.e. a sequence that is composed of multiple separate shots).
DVO Tools require scene boundary information. Except DVO Twister and DVO Steady.
- Scene Detect - enable scene detect function
- Sensitivity - sets how susceptible we are to locating scene changes. A value between 0 and 1.
- A high sensitivity means we might create false positives
- A low sensitivity may not find all the scene changes that exist
- Apply - where to apply the scene detect step :
- Input - do scene detection step on source material
- Output - do scene detection step on output (post-preset) material
- Fields - this enables field mode edits. Enable this for interlaced source material.
The default value for sensitivity should be suitable for most material.
The Output page lets us configure where to place our rendered sequence, what to call it and what file format to use.
- Folder - Choose the output folder by selecting the folder icon and browsing to the desired location
e.g. S:\output\day10 - Name - Enter the file name for the rendered sequence.
- The file name must include the file extension
- The name can include numbers and they will indicate the initial number of frame output IF using the DPX format and NOT using source order. See the Output Naming page.
- Source Order - This will export the sequence using original source timecode values. Because source timecodes may overlap, you should use output variables. See the Output Naming page.
- Extension - Choose the file format to use for the rendered sequence. Depending on the chosen format, format options will allow further definition.
- Depth - DPX colour channels and bit depth e.g. RGB10 is three RGB space colour channels, each 10 bit, YUV10 is YUV color space at 10 bits for each sample.
- Tag - Tag the DPX with LOG, LIN or SMPTE header data values.
- Codec - Choose what Quicktime codec to use
- Codec - Choose what MXF codec to use
