The Farm Group Thrive at their Brand New Facility in the Centre of Manchester
The Farm Group’s Manchester base is open for business!
October 2018 saw The Farm Group launch the UK’s largest regional facility in Salford, Manchester. Based on the first floor of the revamped ABC Buildings in the centre of Manchester, this 23,000 sq ft space is 4K/UHD, SDR/HDR and Dolby Vision capable, and offers Dolby Atmos, as well as a range of fantastic post production facilities, including a 40-seat screening theatre.
The Farm Group’s team of top craft talent, deliver the full range of Nucoda Colour Grading HD to UHD workflows, Dolby Atmos, and VFX services that you would expect from one of the UK’s leading post facilities In their first month at their new facility, The Farm’s Max Goldini graded series 4 of the BAFTA award-winning “Ambulance” & Series 8 of “The Real Housewives of Cheshire” using Digital Visions Nucoda software.
This facility houses seventeen Avid offline suites, four finishing suites (Avid/Flame), VFX suites (Nuke, Maya, Cinema 4D, Adobe), a Nucoda grading suite, four Pro Tools audio suites, tracklay suites, VO booths, and QC and mastering suites. Two 10GB fibre lines connect the facility with The Farm’s other bases in London, Los Angeles, Bristol, and beyond.
The Farm Manchester is run by managing director Paul Austin, the former head of post-production at Dock 10 in Salford, and employs a team of 25. Amongst the new facility’s team members, is senior editor Dan Evans, who has been with The Farm for 20 years, as well as senior dubbing mixers Mark Briscoe and Paul Harrison. Mark Ryder, who trained at The Farm, joined as a dubbing mixer, as did Jordan Laughlin, who has moved to the city from London. Online editor Alex Howells also joined the team, whilst creative director Matt Richardson moved from Studio Liddell.
